Running

Cross country running is one of my favourite activities. I love exploring a new trail, taking some pictures, and sharing my journey with you. Hopefully, you will discover a new trail to explore with these posts and photographic tours.

  • Komoka Running Tour

Komoka Provincial Park is a beautiful place to go for a walk or a nice trail run. It is located along the Thames River, just outside of London, Ontario, Canada. I’m not sure why it is considered a provincial park since it really only offers a nice trail. There aren’t any facilities here at all. […]

  • Running Passed the Farms

I decided to go for a run out in the boonies. I was visiting a friend up in farm country and he told me of a trail not too far away from his house. So I took my camera, laced up my running shoes, and hit the road. Not all of the streets here have […]

  • Unnhh!

I’m feeling a bit under the weather today. I have a cold. It’s a week away from summer holidays and I have a cold. It started all of a sudden Monday afternoon. I was feeling pretty good before it hit me too. I had gone for a nice run through the trails near my house. […]

  • Novel Study Takes to the Track

My all-time favourite novel is Heartbeat by Sharon Creech. I have been sharing it with my class all week long. We’ve been listening to the audio book and following along with copies of the novel. I can’t say enough good things about this book. It is beautiful and poetic and tells a really great story. […]

  • Running Season Starts

I love this time of year. The snow has melted and winter has retreated. The air is crisp and cool, yet quite inviting. In fact, so far the weather has been amazing for March Break. The temperatures have been well above seasonal. It’s been really nice. It has actually beckoned to me and my running […]

  • Running Through the Cemetery

The other day, I decided to run through a cemetery. I’ve run past it several times but I have never stepped foot in it. It’s not that cemeteries creep me out either. I just didn’t think it would be right. But for some reason, last week I decided that it would be okay if I […]

  • I Ran Up The Escarpment

“Hey I can see my mom’s house from here.” That little red dot is where I started my run, approximately. I have gone for some great runs in Grimsby. Last time I ran at Beamer’s Memorial Conservation Area on the mountain. The time before that run, I ran the Waterfront Trail. I knew that the […]

  • Beamer Memorial Run Tour

It’s time for another installment of my Visual Running Tour. This time I drove up the escarpment near my mother’s house and ran at Beamer Memorial Conservation Area. I had never been there before and looked forward to a great exploration and a great run. Isn’t it a shame that you need signs warning you […]

  • The Entire School Ran

On Friday, here, I wrote about my favourite running star, Allyson Felix. Today, I need to write about a running hero. Terry Fox lost a leg to cancer and ran across the country to raise awareness and money for the cause. Since then Terry Fox runs have been a yearly event in cities all across […]

  • Allyson Felix

How can you not love this girl? I just found her website and it is really worth checking out. This is an inspirtional video, and only one of several that are there. Check it out. I am such a big fan of her’s. She did a great job in Beijing this year. I’ll be looking […]
