Bluey is hands down the best TV show ever made. It has millions of fans of all different ages and walks of life. There is just something magical about it that transcends the short episodes.

The final episode of the series, The Sign, was absolutely perfect. And it was followed up with a bonus episode that felt like it belonged in the universe.

If the show had stopped there, I would have been happy.

But . . . Bluey has become a cultural juggernaut and it only makes sense to continue the adventures of the title puppy and her family.

The creator might have been done with these characters, but he got a great idea for a movie and began working on it some time ago. Rumours were that it was going to have a change in its style of animation. This irked quite a lot of people including, myself.

I don’t feel that way any more and here is why.

First though, you should watch the teaser trailer, if you have not already seen it.

I love how this starts out with just clouds. Then we hear the unmistakable Bluey soundtrack quietly in the background. We see a paw and hear the voices of Bluey and Bingo. They are playing “keepy uppy” with a balloon in the backyard.

So far, everything in the trailer has brought us into the familair world of Bluey that we all know and love.

But then we see . . .

The characters look different. They aren’t drawn the same way. But maybe that doesn’t matter.

The voice actors haven’t been recast. The creative team behind the movie is the same.

What makes Bluey the magical show that it is? It isn’t simply the cartoon style that we have seen over and over again since 2018. It is the powerful writing, voice acting, music, and all of the other ingredients that go into making each episode.

So, let’s give them some grace here. I have seen countless posts and news stories about adults complaining about the computer assisted (CGI) animation. Just stop!

This style of animation is likely cheaper and easier to produce so it make sense for them to use it. I just want more Bluey magic and I am confident that we will get just that in this new movie.
