Women in Hip Hop 16 (Mixset + 1985 Spotlight)

This is the 16th annual Women in Hip Hop special as we celebrate International Women’s Day today.

I kick off the show with a mixset of new Hip Hop and then shine a spotlight on 1985 and all the women you could hear on wax that year. This part of an ongoing series and you can dig in the archives if you want to hear specials on 1979, 1980, 1981, 1982, 1983, 1984, 1988, and 1989.

Let’s make sure to be more inclusive with the music we listen to. Let’s shine a spotlight on Hip Hop’s better half more often. There are so many great female MCs, producers, DJs, and people behind the music making moves. Let’s celebrate them, especially today!
