Sesame Street held a townhall for families to help teach kids about what is going on in the world right now. It was pretty powerful stuff for a kids television show. I had to start off this week’s edition of Word is Bond Rap Radio with a clip from that special to hammer home the point that we need to do something now to help eradicate racism.
I also threw in a clip from Dr. Christopher Emdin that he shared on his Instagram page about the fallacy of colour blindness.
I’m a DJ, I like to talk with songs and sound clips. That’s why I even added a clip from a George Carlin comedy bit.
I hope that this show will educate and entertain you. Because if Elmo admits that he can do better, then we all can.
Let’s be kind to one another and do our best to erase racism in all its forms.
