Thankful

I have a lot to be thankful for. This is the perfect time of year to pause for a moment and take stock. This is something I used to do every year on my blog, but when I just dived back into the archive, I see that I’ve let this practice slip. Time to change that.

Here are some things I am thankful for . . .

Mobility

This is something that most of us just take for granted. The fact that we can easily move around in the world without exertion, difficulty, or pain. And it’s something that we usually don’t think about until something goes wrong. I know that there are times where I am starting to feel my age. And I’ve had back issues over the years, but for the most part, I am an active person who loves moving around. I’m thankful I can do that most days without issue.

Randomness

Life has a way of throwing things at you that can feel totally random. But the novelty is something that I actually look forward to. Here is an example; this year I really dived into making videos to promote my wedding DJ business online. My goal was to have a portfolio for potential clients to see what their wedding could look like with me as their DJ. But a funny thing happened. Brides started asking me to share my footage and I started producing them full length videos. Now, I have a new service that I probably never would have thought of on my own.

Family

I an approaching my ten year anniversary and I am truly blessed to have this amazing family. My son surprises and amazes me every single day. I am so thankful that I get to be his dad.

DJing

I have been having a blast DJing weddings this season. I absolutely love weddings and am thankful that I get to be a part of so many special celebrations. My radio show is still going strong too and I’ve had fun producing video editions of Word is Bond Rap Radio now for over a year.

Lego

This one might seem silly. But to be, it is anything but. Lego is the best toy ever invented. It lets kids of all ages express creativity. And it is something that my son and I love to do together. We built a lot of sets this year and have a large intricate city in our basement. I have combined sets and used my imagination to build some pretty cool pieces.

So Much More

I’m sure I could go on for pages and pages, but I am going to call it there, for now.

What Are You Thankful For?

Happy Thanksgiving!
