One of my favourite things to do when DJing is to play a sing-along track and wait for everyone to belt out the lyrics at the top of their lungs.

Sweet Caroline is a great one for this because everyone always sings one certain part. I then surprise the room by cutting the volume out for just a second so we hear the whole room sing, “Bah, bah, bah!”

It throws people off for just a second. They look to me to see if there was some kind of technical difficulty. But I quickly bring the music back and throw my hand in the air.

It is always fun to do this when the song is on a couple’s list or gets requested by a guest.
