Fan Expo Toronto is a huge comic book, science fiction, gaming, anime, and horror convention that happens every year.

This year was special because the Women of Doctor Who were  featured guests at the function.

I took my kids and we all dressed up as characters from the TV show. I cosplayed the 9th Doctor (Christopher Eccleston) and my son dressed up as the Empty Child (Are You My Mummy?)

We bumped into a lot of people who were creeped out by his portrayal of the character. If you haven’t seen that episode, it was a very dark and scary.

We had a lot of fun looking at all of the Doctor Who merchandise and vendors, seeing fellow Whovians in great costumes, and attending the special panel, An Evening With the Companions. 

Karen Gillan (Amy Pond) and Jenna Coleman (Clara Oswald) took questions from the audience and told great stories about their time working on Doctor Who. My kids even got to interact with them by asking them a question.

It was a great day and I am glad that Fan Expo paid tribute to our beloved fandom two years in a row.
