Water Refill Stations

I never leave the house without one of these.

A refillable water bottle.

If I know I am going to be out for a long period of time, I will often pack a cooler bag with three or four of these bottles. That way I can be sure that I will have enough water for a day out.

Last week, I spent an entire day at the CNE and I actually brought a water bottle holder with me. I wasn’t stopped and told that I couldn’t bring an outside drink into the fair grounds.

I was expecting to have to buy a disposable water bottle at some point during the day. Normally when you are at a fall fair or an outdoor concert, that is exactly what you have to do.

That is why I was pleasantly surprised to see this…

A Water Bottle Refill Station.

What a great idea! I think these things should be everywhere.

It really cuts down on waste since I didn’t have to buy four water bottles that day. Instead, I just refilled my own bottle whenever it emptied. (It was a hot day)

I try to do this whenever I can, but it’s often difficult to do so. Water fountains are often hard to find when out and about and with some of them, it is near impossible to refill a water bottle.

I’d like to thank The Ex for provided these water bottle refill stations and would like to encourage other events to do the same. It was very appreciated! Let’s get these things everywhere!

  1. Hi Chase .. you're right – that's a great idea .. to have free water – perhaps they're encouraging you to use refills and not buy a new plastic bottle each time .. makes more sense.

Water is definitely the necessity of life ..

    Thanks – Hilary

  2. Hi Hilary,

I think it's great. I don't drink and I rarely drink pop. I drink water every day though so it's great to know that some places provide you with a place to refill.

  3. Hi Chase,

I'm with you on this. Just thinking how much a water station can save on waste and the clean up of waste, one of theses stations could pay for itself in no time.

  4. Hi Barbara,

Great point. I have seen water bottles, pop cans, and other drink containers littered all over a concert field before. Perhaps stations like this would cut down on waste and the involved clean up.
