Where did you come from?
Why have you crept into my daily lexicon?
I don’t remember using you,
until only recently,
you’ve been born into my vocabulary.
You’ve butt in and taken but’s place
But not completely, you see
The problem is that when I look back
I can remove you
And it makes no difference
to my words or message.
So why are you there?
and where did you come from?
I don’t know, though it’s good to see you.

Hi Chase,
Did you figure out where “though” came from?
Hi Barbara,
I checked for the origin of the word online today. Sometimes words have really interesting stories. This one doesn’t seem to. I don’t know where it came from or why I find myself using it all the time in my speech and my writing.
One “rule” of writing is to remove any unnecessary words. I think I may just have to break this one. I really like though and can’t seem to stop using it.
