Thanksgiving (Not Perfect, But Just Right All the Same)

Thanksgiving is one of the best times of the year to reflect and take stock of life. We get together with family, enjoy some great food, and nice company.

Last year, I seemed to just tread water through the whole thing. The year before I imagined a new start, a start that didn’t really come.

Things have a tendency of working out. I truly believe that. I have some interesting stories that I could share with you to illustrate this point. Suffice it to say, if you stay positive and work hard, things fall into place.

I have a lot to be thankful this year, including a fresh new start. I have no idea where things are going but I do know that I am blessed. Here’s why,

I’m a Music Teacher

I love my new job teaching instrumental music for Grades 5, 6, 7, and 8. I’ve been meaning to blog about it in detail but things have been rather busy lately. And I’m not complaining at all.

I’m Single

This doesn’t seem like something to be thankful for. It can be lonely at times. But deep down, I’m still the hopeless romantic who believes in soul-mates. I just hope she makes herself seen sometime soon.

I Get to Create Every Day

I make music, or something approaching it with 11 different classes, and it’s beautiful.

I write, record, and produce documentary hip-hop radio programs.

I make mixtapes for fun and mixsets for the radio show and podcast.

I write fiction too, although not was much as I would like.

And I blog

Life is Good

It’s not perfect, but it’s a work in progress, and for once, I can really enjoy the process.

Happy Thanksgiving Everyone!
