Thames Grove Conservation Area Trail Run

I love exploring new places to run. Today, it’s Thames Grove Conservation Area in Chatham-Kent, Ontario.

This boat launch looked nice. It made me wish I could go floating down the river on this lazy afternoon.

Here is a little information about the Thames River, if you are interested. I didn’t stop long to read it, just snapped a picture, and started my run.

I couldn’t quite tell where the trail started so I ran passed the picnic pavilion and figured it had to be back in the bush somewhere.

This didn’t looked too welcoming. The sign warned that the trail isn’t maintained and you could certainly tell. But I made my way down it anyway. You might want to skip it if you go here. It was overgrown and didn’t extend too far back.

I ran a loop around the pollinator garden and then explored the trail on the other side of the park. This part looked much more promising.

I came across a rail trail that took me down a path towards a leash-free dog park. It seemed to continue for a bit on the other side of the river too. It might be worth coming back to explore some more.

I definitely didn’t find the best route available today. And it’s not the best place to run, but it was fun to explore new territory.

Photographic Tours – You can explore even further. There are over 50 different trails to check out. Enjoy!
