Star Trek: TNG Season 3+ (Maybe)

Star Trek: The Next Generation – Terra Incognita

I love to browse the graphic novel section every time I visit the library. I’m usually able to find a book or two that interests me. This one did just that. It seemed like it was a good time to get back into the world of Star Trek: The Next Generation.

It didn’t even bother me that I hadn’t read the story before this one. I am quite familiar with the Mirror Universe from the television show and other books so it was easy enough to jump right into this one.

I liked the way it dealt with the aftermath of the battle at Wolf 359 from the end of the third season of the TV show. It had left them ill-prepared if the Cardassians peace talks fell through because much of Starfleet was in shambles after the war with the Borg.

Tying everything together in this collection of stories is Lieutenant Barclay. Somehow, his doppelganger from the Mirror Universe made it aboard the Enterprise and took his place among the crew. Will they discover their own has been replaced? What are his intentions? He seems to think he can be a better Barclay than the one he found here, but is that all he wants?

Season 3 of the TV series is where things really started to come together. This comic continues in that tone and goes a little darker than the show ever did. But it works. And I want to read more. That’s what good graphic novels do, right?
