Reacher – Excellent TV

When I first started watching, Reacher, I had no idea that this television series was based upon the novel that introduced the character to the world. Right away, I was taken aback by the cinematography, the powerful acting, and the great writing. I’m glad that I never read the first Jack Reacher novel. Experiencing it this was was incredible.

I am a big fan of audiobooks. This series felt like a visual book. It only had 8 chapters or episodes, and there definitely wasn’t any filler or slow spots. The audiobook of this story is 17 hours long. Television is a different medium and I’m not sure the story would have worked if it had been filmed completely as written. The writers who crafted this tale for television did an excellent job.

We are in a golden age of television. An era that lets us experience long-form storytelling in a way that a movie never could. I’m glad that a second season has been ordered. I can’t wait to see more!
