M’Chigeeng Trail

The M’Chigeeng Hiking Trail is located on First Nations’ land on Manitoulin Island.

The trail starts off rather rocky

and runs uphill for quite some time.

The run was worth it just for this beautiful rocky terrain. But it gets even nicer at the top.

The trail markers are easy to follow all the way up to the lookout.

But, the trail, itself, doesn’t seemed to be maintained well. I wanted to go further than I did but I didn’t want to run the section that was obviously overgrown.

The lookout was really nice though

and this Hollywood-style sign is pretty cool.

This looks like a great place to take in a pow wow. It wasn’t the best run on the island, but running up a tough hill is always fun, right?
