Our students need to see themselves reflected in the texts that we have available in the classroom. It might take a little bit of work to build a diverse classroom library, but it is worth it.
This novel takes place entirely on the refrigerator door with notes that family members leave for each other. The concept pulled me in and the story kept me engaged.
