Having a Blast at the First Nations Video Shoot

I had a lot of fun this weekend providing the music for a special day on the Chippewas of the Thames First Nations Reserve.

They were shooting a music video there to help call attention to the horrors of Residential Schools.

Dave from NYC Stylz was on hand providing orange shirts to people and I was able to cop a hat from his new clothing line, Empresario.

It felt great to be DJing in front of a live audience again. I even had the chance to show some of the youth how to mix, scratch, and make beats.

This young man is just getting started in beat making and producing. I showed him the beats I’ve been making lately and how I use Serato Studio.

Mad Hattr was there and gave him some tips as well. It’s always nice when we can teach and inspire the youth. We’ve given workshops together before and it is always a blast.

It was a great day of music, pow-wow dancing, and hanging out with some amazing people. I hope we can do something like this again real soon.
