Many DJ companies will boast about having the best sound and lighting equipment. However, having the best equipment means nothing without an experienced and trained professional behind it.
We use the standard set up of two turntables and a mixer for the basis of our sound system. This is enhanced with computer controlled vinyl that allows us to play even the latest songs that have only been released digitally.
We also recognize that the size of the venue, the number of guests, and the mood you want to convey all dictate what the sound system and lighting equipment should be. We have extensive experience and the knowledge to provide you with the perfect solution for your wedding and reception.
We pride ourselves on delivering a great experience that includes professional equipment for both sound and lighting.
DJs typically fall into two categories. There are DJs who command attention. They use the microphone a lot, incorporate games, props, and interact with the crowd frequently throughout the night.
The second type of DJ is a facilitator of the party. He or she makes sure the music flows smoothly, that announcements are made only as needed and keeps the chatter on the microphone to a minimum.
We fall into the second category here at Chase March DJ Services. However, if you would like more interaction and games, we are happy to accommodate any request.
We have an extensive music library that spans a vast array of genres and eras. We will likely have the songs you would like to hear. If we do not have a particular song that you'd like, we will do our best to purchase it. If it is a rare track or a culturally diverse song we are not familiar with, you can provide us with a copy in advance to ensure the correct version will be played at your wedding or event.
It is your special day and you can plan as little or as much of it as you want when it comes to the music. Feel free to provide us with a list of songs you would like to hear. This can be as long as you want. Keep in mind that a typical four hour dance allows for approximately 50-60 songs. On average, wedding guests make between 20-30 requests as well.
When we meet, we will have a discussion about the music at your event. Some couples like to plan out every musical detail, others tell us to simply play to the crowd and keep people dancing. Wherever you fall in this scale, we will work with you every step of the way.
There may be genres, artists, or specific songs that you simply cannot stand. If so, please provide us with a “Do Not Play List.” We won’t play any of those songs or artists even if they are requested by your guests. After all, it is your wedding and the music should be exactly the way you like it.
We can take requests at the reception or ahead of time.
Some couples choose to ask guests to request a song or two on the RSVP. It could be as simple as including the text, "A song that would get me out of my chair and onto the dance floor is . . ."
We are always happy to play music that will keep people up and dancing. We also provide you the option of a “Do Not Play List” so you won’t have to hear a song or artist on your wedding day that you would prefer not to.
Our DJs are skilled at “reading the crowd” and playing to a wide range of tastes. We play upbeat music from a variety of styles and eras to please the diverse audience that will likely be at your event. We are experts at blending together different styles of music to keep the dance floor popping all night long.
We will work with you in advance to make sure that we play the music that both you and your guests will appreciate. We take requests on the fly and play the songs your guests want to hear in the moment as well.
We can provide suitable music for the ceremony. We have several playlists and songs available for you to choose from that have been featured in countless weddings.
We can make custom edits and mash-ups of songs as well. If you have an idea of what you would like to hear, we will work with you to make sure it fits perfectly for the ceremony.
It is customary to order a dinner for the DJ. Some people choose to have the photographer and DJ sit together at a table that doesn’t include close family members. Alternatively, our DJ can a bring a plate to the DJ station and be served there.
Along with providing the music for your event, our DJ can also serve as your Master of Ceremonies. We can speak as little or as much as you would like. We can make announcements throughout the evening whenever needed. We pride ourselves in being professional and charismatic. If you choose for our DJ to be your MC, he or she will meet with you prior to the event to make sure we can pronounce everyone’s name correctly, and figure out the order and timing of speeches and announcements.
If you have a time between your wedding ceremony and the reception that requires background music, we can happily supply you with that service as well. If this is in a different room or location from the rest of your reception, there may be a additional charge for us to set up. We can play any style of soft music to help set the mood you would like for your cocktail hour.
We can provide background music during dinner for no additional charge.
We will call you within 48 hours of filling in the booking / inquiry form on our website. We will arrange to meet you with to discuss the details of your wedding or event. We will also follow up with you the week prior to your wedding to make sure all of the details have been finalized and arranged.
Of course! You can bring your own music on a USB drive and we will be happy to play it. Make sure your music is either .mp3 or.wav. format.
Some people choose to do this because they have culturally specific music that we are unlikely to have. If you have any special mash-up, remixes or cover songs, this is a way to ensure the correct version of the song you want to hear is played.
