First Nations Video Shoot

The horrors of Canada’s Residential School system are just starting to come to light. I am surprised that people were unaware of this terrible part of our history until the terrible news broke a few weeks ago. Members of the Chippewas of the Thames First Nation are getting together Saturday to shoot a video to help call further attention to the issue.

There will be hundreds of youth there celebrating their culture and sharing their talents. And I will be on hand providing music entertainment.

The Administration of Chippewa of the Thames First Nations, along with their Youth Programs Coordinator will help to ensure safety protocols are in place for Covid-19. Masks are mandatory.

Youth ages 3-30 years have the opportunity to be apart of a music video that not only showcases their talents, but also sheds light on the residential school systems, and the other numerous issues we have within all of our First Nation’s communities across Canada.

They are asking the youth to please be dressed in their loudest proudest selves – sports, dance, archery, arts, etc – and also in an Orange shirt on the day of the shoot. Please arrive for 2pm for a quick review of what to expect for the day.

A dinner by Oneida’s very own Chefs Boon & Dan will be served to all those involved with filming, please sign up to ensure you get a meal. 519-317-6025

I hope to see a great response to this event and look forward to having a great DJ set and doing some interactive elements with those in attendance. See you there!
