All Women’s Voices Day (TODAY) Radio Western

All Women’s Voices is an annual tradition at Radio Western and it is today!

This year, it marks the 30th anniversary of the Montreal Massacre, the day when 14 women studying at École Polytechnique were murdered by a lone gunman.

In remembrance of that terrible event, Radio Western has been programming a special day of broadcasting for over 20 years called All Women’s Voices, every December 6th.

I am proud to have been part of this for the past six years. Since the day focuses on just female voices, I am relegated to the decks and stay away from the microphone completely. This lets me do spotlights on some of the best emcees in the game and let them tell their own stories.

This year, Word is Bond Rap Radio presents . . . Eyeda Spohia: In Her Own Words.

If you are not familiar with her music, do yourself a favour and catch this special today at 9:00 p.m. EST. This show is part of a Women and Hip-Hop spotlight of programming that gets started at 5:30 with interviews, mixsets, artist spotlights, and dope DJs.

All Women’s Voices is 24 hours of great programming on Radio Western.
