It’s the first of the month. Time for Chasing Content, that monthly feature that has us looking at what this month had in store for us last year.

Spin that record back!

Read all of the posts from last April

or just these awesome ones!

A Victorious Script Frenzy – I’ve participated in this writing challenge for the past two years. It’s the one that has us hammering away at our keyboards all month to produce a 100 page screenplay. Unfortunately, I don’t think I can squeeze this into my busy schedule this year. I really want to though.

Recommended Reads: Black Noise –  This book was refreshing to read. It’s an intelligent exploration of rap music and hip-hop culture written by Tricia Rose. It’s part of my ever-growing Recommended Reads list.

Know Your History: Women of the 1970s – Part of my monthly podcast series, this episode focuses on the early female pioneers in rap and hip-hop culture. It was part of our coverage for the 100th anniversary of International Women’s Day.

Hip-Hop in Black and White – This was my first contribution to The Word is Bond and started the collaboration between them and DOPEfm. I am really enjoying my time with both of these hip-hop outlets.

First Time in a Classroom? Try these Sure-Fire Teaching Tips – A guest post from Bobbie Walker with some great tips for new and established teachers.
