I’m Searchable Now!

Have you ever typed your name into Google’s search engine just to see what happens?

It’s an interesting thing to search for yourself in cyberspace. I know that I have tried it before and got absolutely nothing. Typing in “chase march” in Google usually gets you a storm chasers website and a photo of a storm that he shot in the month of March. But not anymore. Type in my name now and you will actually get me.

Woo-hoo! I’m searchable now! The number one hit for “chase march” on Google is my homepage. I also show up again a few hits down with my profile on Blog Catalog.

This is awesome! Now I can direct people to my blog a lot easier. “Google me,” I can say. Everyone knows what that means. It is amazing how Google has become a verb; it’s something that people do for fun.

I don’t have a lot of time to play around online. I will admit to Googling myself before and even trying some of my friends. It’s usually a fun thing to do because you discover that names are a lot more common than you might think.

I’m glad my name isn’t too common. I don’t hear too many people named Chase. Maybe because it is a versatile word just like Google. It can be used to describe something very specific, namely me, or it can be a noun or a verb. I know people like to make puns about my name but it is all in fun. I like having fun and I like puns. I like my name and I love that the fact that I am searchable now. Go ahead and try it, Google me.

  1. Yes, I’m afraid. Terribly afraid. I need to quit writing so that no one knows who I am. Just Kidding! The more readers the better, as far as I am concerned.

  2. Congratulations!

If I google my real name, I still come up only with a certain dead politician and a famous music producer.

But at least Isis has made google-able the divine name of Ms. Darlene Tsue.
