Feel Good Interpretation

I am trying to write a blog entry while Jeopardy is on the television behind me.

I am only half paying attention to the Teen Tournament because my time is awfully short these days. I would like to be watching the show and giving it my undivided attention but I can’t. I don’t have any entries pre-written for the week. I need to get back to report cards soon. I haven’t checked my email all day long. I’m starting to get a bit frustrated that my to-do list is so long.

And then the television calls for my attention. It’s a commercial and not a category that I could whip through on Jeopardy. But it is worth my attention.

A Tuba starts off playing a familiar tune. Other people join in the song playing several different instruments or non-instruments. It’s one of those feel good Christmas commercials. And this one hooks me.

I recognize the song right away but it takes my attention to totally recall it. Then I remember.

Groove is in the Heart by Deee-Lite.

What a great mix of the song too. It isn’t just lifted from the album either. It is a new interpretation of a ninety’s classic. I really love how this commercial sounds and flows. It’s a refreshing change from commercials just stealing and ruining old songs.

It was a nice pick me up after a long and tiring day.

  1. I was watching that Jeopardy last night too Chase. If you had seen another commercial break, they asked Alex what was the crazyiest thing he had seen on his long years of Jeopardy, and he showed a clip of himself without pants, trying to put the 3 contestants at ease, before the Final Jeopardy question on one show.

Also, one of the contestants on last night’s show didn’t answer in the form of a question, and he let her get away with it. He corrected her but she still got the points.

  2. Hi Silverfish,

I missed that. I was watching it but not really paying much attention. I’ve seen contestants get away with not saying their response in the form of a question before. It’s rare but it does happen. I wonder why they gave it to her if they caught it. Was it because it was the Teen Tournament?

That pants thing is hilarious too. I should’ve ben actually watching that show, eh?

  3. Its been quite a while since I watched Jeopardy, but when I did, I would get soooo excited when I got a question right. I’ve even gotten a few final J questions right. Maybe I should try to get on the show. 😉

  4. Hi Carla,

Wheel of Fortune and Jeopardy are the two best shows on TV. They challenge us to become involved in the program and we can actually learn things as well.

Plus, it’s always nice to see a contestant win. I love to see their excitement. This is reality television that is actually “real.”
