Recommended Reads # 1

I enjoy reading and would like to share some of my favourite books with you. This is the first of what I hope is to be several entries under this header.

Heartbeat by Sharon Creech

This book sounds amazing! It is a verse novel and at first glance it seems like a collection of poems, but it is a novel. It tells a great story about a 12 year old girl who likes to run. It is my favourite book. If you can get a hold of the audio book, do yourself a favour and get that because this a book that needs to be heard.

  1. No, no, no!

Don’t tell me about any more great books to read, Chase March!

    Have mercy.

My should-read-this-book list is already long enough to wrap around the Petronas Towers.

My half-read book list is nearly as long.

I have already calculated that I will be deader than a worm in the path of Empress by the time I finish reading the books that I already own, even if I quit work and ignore all my friends until they abandon me in disgust.

Oh, all right. I’ll read it. Sounds like a good one.

  2. This one is a really fast read. You can read the entire story in one sitting. It takes about two hours.

The book is originally aimed at children but I read it as an adult and absolutely loved it. I think you will too.

I hope you don’t mind, ECD, but I plan to do this type of post regularly now. I actually am in the middle of a book that I think I will need to write about once I am finished reading it. But you are so right that the wealth of good material out there far exceeds our ability to read all them all.

Which is why your friends will probably appreciate it if you continue your list. I know I have people who share my reading interests and I’m very grateful to them when they point me to this book or the other.

  4. Thanks for your comment Trisia.

I actually have found out about books by reading blogs as well. I will make this a feature on my blog. I just finished a book that I will add soon.

    Cheers!
